Imbalances in estrogen has led to cell cancer of the cervix or vagina and birth defects. Progesterone has caused birth defects (underdeveloped scrotum in male babies), sterility, breast and cervical cancer, miscarriages and depression.
Depo Provera, for example, (3-month birth control injection), is one such progesterone birth control option - popular and convenient among young women – which may lead to above abnormalities. Depo Provera or use of the traditional birth control pill can be the culprit for irregular cycle and conception problems post-use. The normal female cycle may be irregular and disturbed and it may take a long time to correct.
Pill use can lead to heart problems, migraine, thrombosis, weight gain infertility or cancer. Sodium and water retention is also a common complaint of pill users. If a female taking the pill smokes, heart attacks and thrombosis occur more frequently. The pill can destroy valuable nutrients such as vitamin E and B and those should be substituted.
Administration of estrogen during menopause can lead to elevated estrogen levels may lead to hypertension and bone softness, osteoporosis, risk of heart attack, diminished liver function, thrombosis and even cancer.
A person with hormonal imbalance due to use of synthetic hormones should undergo a complete physical examination, blood test etc. in order to get an overall health picture. Depending on the findings, e.g. hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, infertility, weight gain, a plan to regulate the female cycle with proper nutrients and/or natural cleansings can be established. It may be a lengthy procedure to get the cycle back in order.
